The Child, Youth and Family Studies Diploma is an alternative available to students who, once they have completed a 1st year certificate in Human Service Work, Education Assistant, or ECE, wish to continue their education in a different specialty area.
The Child, Youth and Family Studies Diploma courses must be chosen from the 2nd year course offerings in the Education Assistant Diploma and the Human Service Work Diploma.
In order to graduate with the CYFS diploma, a student must have a total of 60 credits gained through the certificate (1st year) and diploma (2nd year) courses.
Note: For students who have not completed a Certificate, but who would like permission to take Diploma level courses for professional development, see Admission Options.
If you have not completed a 1st year certificate, and would like information about the certificates in Human Services, Education Assistance, or Early Childhood Education, see the Child, Youth and Family Studies website.
