Free Film Appreciation Night - Free course
We all enjoy a good movie, but do we always understand everything movies are saying to us? Film appreciation is the art of reading a film and understanding how it works - it's a knowledgeable analysis of movies and movie-making.
Join us for a lecture, viewing and discussion of Alfred Hitchcocks, "Vertigo," as we consider the effects of cinematic composition, music, dialogue, editing and other elements upon this classic thriller.
This 3-hour evening will be introduced by film scholar Kerry McArthur ( PhD, University of Calgary ). Kerry is a film scholar and screenwriter with more than 25 years experience in the field of filmmaking and cinema studies.
