Course Overview
Upon successful completion of this two-day course, the candidate will demonstrate a basic knowledge of wild land fire suppression organization structure, wildfire behaviour, plus suppression and safety procedures. Obtaining practical skills with equipment used in BC to effectively and safely respond to wildfires is a mandatory component for the initial S100 BC Wildfire Service recognized certification. BC Wildfire Service Certificate valid for one year unless recertification is completed annually.
Prerequisite: Minimum of 16 years of age.
