Production Horticulture
This 8-week program is designed to provide students with the skills to safely use and care for horticulture and basic carpentry tools, describe plant science, plant health and pesticide management and learn about soil health and care. Successful participants will have the basic horticulture knowledge to start and manage a small garden/greenhouse business or work in a larger horticulture production centre with confidence and knowledge.
This course will include Healthy Soils, Botany, Plant Identification and Pest Management as well as a week of Small Engine Repair and some time in Woodworking basics to complete projects around the landscape.
These courses can be taken as a full program, but if space is available there will also be the chance to attend individual weeks. Full course description is available at the College.
