First Nations Tourism Certificate
(This program is under review and will not be offered in the coming academic year.)
The First Nations Tourism industry generated about $270 million in 1999 and is expected to reach the $1.9 billion mark in 10 years if all potential is realized.
Aboriginal students may now gain accreditation in a field of work that is becoming standardized in practice.
The First Nations Tourism Certificate program builds upon the existing Tourism program offered at the College of the Rockies. The main focus of the First Nations Tourism Certificate program is to teach First Nation learners effective tourism service to visitors within the Ktunaxa/Kinbasket traditional territory.
The First Nations Tourism Certificate program is 10-months with laddering opportunities into more courses related to Tourism.
