If you enjoy a recreational lifestyle, this is the place for you!
Our campuses are located in a region that abounds with creeks, rivers and lakes for fishing, water skiing, wind surfing or just lounging around. And, of course, there are mountains, mountains, mountains! Did we mention mountains? Mountains in which you can climb, hike, bike, ski, or simply enjoy as a spectacular backdrop.
Our region boasts five destination ski resorts, practically on our door-step, offering world-class downhill skiing from late November to early April. Alberta ski resorts in Banff, Lake Louise, and Nakiska are within a few hours drive.
There are dozens of superb golf courses within a short drive from any of our campus locations. In fact, the Cranbrook Golf Course is right across the street from our main campus!
Cranbrook's WHL Kootenay ICE hockey team provides fast-paced, exciting games during the season hosting teams from Vancouver, BC to Brandon, Manitoba, to Spokane, Washington. The College sponsors College Nights at ICE games when tickets are available at a reduced rate for College staff and students.
In Cranbrook, the Key City Theatre and the Rec Plex periodically host big name entertainers as well as ballets, art exhibits and regular performances by the Symphony of the Kootenays. In addition, the Studio Stage Door also brings in blues, folk, R&B and jazz performers. Fort Steele Heritage Town is a short distance away where you can enjoy the living past during the summer months. Each community in our area boasts arts and entertainment festivals on a regular basis.
Cranbrook is also the largest shopping district in the region, and is home to several malls, big-box stores such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Real Canadian Superstore, and many specialty stores. Throughout the area, you'll find many interesting shops, artisans and galleries.
The College of the Rockies ... a great place to work, live and play.
