Course Overview:

Spill Response - Due Diligence Certification (SRDD) is an applied, field-based course focusing on inland and freshwater applications and conditions. The SRDD provides course participants with the skills, knowledge, and abilities to confidently and effectively prevent and, if needed, respond to and manage a potential spill on a job site. The SRDD is recognized by BC Ministry of Environment as an essential “due diligence” training course for anyone responding to an incident involving petroleum hydrocarbons. The SRDD course complies with WorkSafeBC requirements to meet the standards that will ensure adequate trainee knowledge to assess and respond in a safe and responsible way. This two-day course includes both classroom theory and field-based exercises. The SRDD course reviews the following: • Types of assessments • Legal issues • Fate and effects of spilled product • Training in fuel transport • Storage and dispensing • Review of standards for response organization • Advanced site sampling • Cleanup • Disposal • Treatment
