Beginner Pottery Wheel | $349 + GST

Course Overview:

The course will give the student a thorough and precise introduction into throwing pottery on the wheel in a fun and social environment. These small group classes cover clay preparation, basics of centering, creating forms (bowls, cups, etc.), drying and glazing. Along with the physical skills required, students will learn the importance of mindset and breath.

Suzanne Cooper has worked as studio potter for a number of years supplying pieces to Western Canadian galleries. She has both a diploma from Kootenay School of the Arts in Ceramics as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honours in Ceramic Practice from the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. She has taught clay-with a focus on wheel throwing- both privately and in schools for 5 years.
