Admission Requirements

Still in High School? Consider admission through the Youth Train in Trades program

Youth Train in Trades is an industry training program for high school students. Through this program, you can take courses that will give you both high school graduation credits and a head start towards completion of an apprenticeship program.

Academic Requirements

  • Valid Foodsafe Level 1 Certificate*  
  • Grade 10 (Grade 12 preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.

* Foodsafe certification must be provided at registration and prior to the start of class. Foodsafe courses are available through Continuing Education.

Note: All regional applicants will meet with the chef instructor for a short interview; all non-regional applicants must contact the program coordinator for a short telephone interview.
