Convocation Ceremony Instructions
Upon arrival, graduates are instructed to go to the check-in desk. The desk will be open from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm. If you have not checked in by 12:50 pm, your certificate/diploma will not be ready and your name will not be called.
Most students will be dressed in “casual” business attire. The academic regalia will be provided by the College and consists of a black knee length gown, a V-stole and a cap.. The graduation caps are a keepsake for all graduates who attend the ceremony.
There is a coat check room available to keep your purses, coats and other personal items during the Convocation Ceremony. The coat check room will be open from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on June 8. Graduates will not be allowed to bring purses, phones or coats into the ceremony. Items that are not claimed by 4:00 pm on June 8, can be collected on June 10, 2019 at the Cranbrook Admissions and Registration Department. Do not leave any personal belongings in the classrooms prior to the ceremony.
Length of Ceremony:
The length of the ceremony is approximately two hours and will take place in the College of the Rockies gymnasium commencing at 1:30 pm.
Seating is limited and on a first-come basis. We encourage you to limit your guests to four to avoid overcrowding. Guests are asked to arrive at 1:00 pm. There will be a wheelchair seating area.
Graduates will receive their certificate, diploma or degree during the ceremony. If you have already received your credential prior to the ceremony, you are encouraged to attend the ceremony and will receive a congratulatory letter.
