<p><strong>Duties: </strong>Reporting to the Dean, Aboriginal Programs and Services, the incumbent will be a key participant in the COTR-Ktunaxa Nation Council Bridging to Education and Employment Program, a project that runs from May 2013 to March 2014 for Aboriginal students in four East Kootenay communities and two COTR campuses. This project may extend to June 2014, subject to funding.
The project coordinator will liaise with professional tutors, Band communities, community Elders, COTR instructors and education advisors to support excellent community-based services for students taking online ABE courses and other community-based training. The project coordinator will work closely with KNC Ktunaxa Nation Council and Band contacts to ensure there are appropriate learning spaces for all learners in each of the participating Band communities.  The Coordinator will assist with student recruitment, individual training plan/portfolio development, and assessment, and will monitor student and tutor participation.  He/She will work closely with each participating community to facilitate the delivery of other trainings identified by the communities or partners.  The Coordinator will maintain records of project activities and prepare reports.

<p><strong>Qualifications: </strong>This position requires a degree in, Education, Arts, Business or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable experience in and commitment to building strong collaborative working relationships and partnerships with First Nations communities; related work experience coordinating projects and managing project budgets; commitment to training and education; strong culturally appropriate interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills.  Candidates must be proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications, email, design and publishing, and knowledge of databases.
Travel is required within the region; job duties may involve flexible hours, including occasional evening and weekend work; Class 5 driver’s license required / Class 4 desired.  As a contract employee of the College of the Rockies, the successful candidate is expected to be a lifelong learner who continues to develop his/her skills to help the College meet the needs of our students and our other valued clients.

<p><strong>Duties: </strong>This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering specialized assessments for prospective and current students who have been referred by professional Student Services staff. You will conduct individualized assessments for students and assist faculty in the implementation and program planning for students with learning disabilities. This work will involve administering, scoring and interpreting a variety of assessment tests, including achievement, aptitude and cognitive ability tests such as the WJ-III, WAIS IV, Goudey, etc.  </p>
<p><strong>Qualifications: </strong>A graduate degree in Special Education or Educational Psychology or equivalent from a recognized university is required and must be supplemented by several years experience in conducting assessment testing. Experience assisting adults with learning disabilities is an asset.  The applicant must qualify as a test user for level C tests.  Some travel may be required.
