Indigenous Education Services
College of the Rockies Indigenous Education Team would like to welcome you! We also want to thank the Ktunaxa Nation, as each of our campuses are within the boundaries of their territory. Our staff is committed to providing a supportive, and inclusive environment for all. We primarily serve First Nations, Métis and Inuit students and community members seeking to further their education or training. However, we also offer opportunities for all students, staff faculty and external community members throughout the year. We seek to assist all who are interested in growing in their Indigenous knowledge.
All new and returning members of our community are encouraged to like our Facebook page, where all updates about past, current, and future events are posted. This page also offers regular updates to students, staff, and community members regarding community events, scholarship opportunities, and important College activities. If you have any events or news to share, let us know and we will post it to our Facebook page for you!
The Aboriginal Gathering Place (AGP), was built and developed with the assistance of Ktunaxa partners and community members and students and staff at College of the Rockies. The AGP has a doors open policy. Students have access to a full kitchen, study area, and gathering place in the lower level. The upper level will also be open for students, staff, and community members to book meetings, classes and social gatherings. Stay in tune as the AGP continues to grow in becoming a hub for campus activity, always in honour of Indigenous knowledge.
At College of the Rockies the Aboriginal Advisory Committee serves to connect the College with the regional Aboriginal communities. The advisory committee seeks to recognize the needs of Indigenous students and community members and design strategic plans to serve those needs. The committee works to support the development of appropriate, relevant and engaging programming and services, which facilitate high quality learning opportunities for all.
