Inspire Centre

The Inspire Centre, Cranbrook Campus – Rm 109, supports college Faculty towards both academic innovation and applied research through the following services:

  • teaching effectiveness and student learning
  • learner-centred education
  • the scholarship of teaching and learning, and
  • innovation through applied and community research



Reflective Praxis involves critical reflection toward action-oriented transformation of one’s teaching.

Topics under reflection will either include one of two types:

General: course design methods, student engagement, creative evaluation, or technology tools

Specific: instructional strategies to support diverse cultural classroom milieus, rubics, academic appeals, course outlines as contracts

Instructional Demonstrations

General Topics:
Faculty member to demonstrate an instructional best practice

  • Jan 31 - 12 -12:30pm
  • Feb 7 - 12 -12:30pm
  • Mar 7  - 12 -12:30pm

Instructional Exchanges

General Topics:
Intra-faculty topic discussions among peers, designed for follow-up reflection and discussion 4 weeks later

Register in one of five  half hour time slots per date, between 11am and 1 pm
