$5.00 refund when lock is returned.

Terms and Conditions:

Two weeks before the end of your Rental Term, an email will be sent to you to remind you that you need to vacate your locker. If your locker has not been emptied at the end of your rental term, your lock will be removed and the contents of your locker will be put into storage and held for three weeks.

Content Removal:

Locker contents that are not removed by the end of the rental term will be subject to a

$15.00

reclamation/storage charge.  Payment must be made before contents will be released. Contents will be held for three weeks before being discarded. The College of the Rockies Campus Life locker program is not responsible for lost or stolen locker items.  It is strongly suggested that valuables are not stored in you locker.

Locker Access:

The College of the Rockies Campus Life staff reserves the right to access lockers at its sole discretion if there is a suspected security risk or there is an environmental concern such as pest control or odours. Security has the right to enter a locker at any time should they suspect it contains items that put the college environment in danger. Any criminal activity will be reported to police. The College is required to provide police with access in the event of a criminal investigation.

COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Terms of Use & Release of Liability

Release of Liability, Privacy and Responsibility Statements for the (COTR CAMPUS LIFE) Locker Rental Program IN CONSIDERATION FOR BEING GRANTED THE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE TO RENT A LOCKER FROM COTR CAMPUS LIFE. THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES AS FOLLOWS:

A. I assume responsibility for securing the locker by keeping it closed and locked when not in use; all

responsibilities in keeping the combination number secret; all responsibilities involving any damage

or vandalism to the locker or its lock, and stolen or lost items;

B. I agree that COTR CAMPUS LIFE is not liable for any of the aforementioned

responsibilities;

C. I agree that rental of a locker from COTR CAMPUS LIFE does not confer upon me any right or entitlement to use or possess the locker and the lock in any manner other than as specifically provided for in the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Rental Policy;

D. I agree not to store anything that may emit odours, secrete liquids or otherwise be dangerous in

nature;

E. I agree that the lock and locker are non-transferable;

F. I agree that COTR CAMPUS LIFE is not liable or responsible for any lost or stolen items, damage to the locker or lock or any other incident which may cause harm or damage to the locker, its contents, the lock, or to me. I assume all liability for such issues;

G. COTR CAMPUS LIFE will protect all private information given in order to rent a locker, such as name, phone number and e-mail address, but maintains the right to share that information with Campus Security

or any authorized law enforcement agency;

H. COTR CAMPUS LIFE maintains the right to issue warnings and/or enter any locker after complaints from other COTR Students, faculty or employees or should the locker emit odours, secrete liquids, be thought to contain dangerous items or if there is any other serious concern, as determined by

COTR CAMPUS LIFE.

I. COTR CAMPUS LIFE maintains the right to allow Campus Security or an authorized law enforcement agency access to ANY LOCKER AT ANY TIME WITHOUT THE RENTER PRESENT, provided that they have a documented incident report or a lawful warrant requires opening the locker. A COTR CAMPUS LIFE representative MUST be present when Campus Security or an authorized law enforcement agency

opens the locker. Notification will be given to the Renter when COTR CAMPUS LIFE enters a locker without the Renter present.

J. COTR CAMPUS LIFE maintains the right to remove and replace the lock as per the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Rental Policy;

K. I MUST REMOVE ALL CONTENTS AND RETURN THE LOCK BY ADVERTISED END OF TERM

DATE OF THE CURRENT TERM to the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life office.

Should I fail to do so, I will lose my deposit and be subject to a fifteen dollar ($15.00) pick-up fee for the

locker contents as per the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Rental Policy.
L. THE LOCK DEPOSIT WILL ONLY BE RETURNED IF the lock is returned undamaged before the advertised end of term date of the current term; the locker is undamaged; the locker contents have been emptied; the person who signs this document returns the lock; no violations have been made. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS ON LOCKER RENTALS AT ANY TIME.
M. I certify I have read this document and the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Rental Policy, and I fully understand and agree to the content of each document. I also agree and am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract, that I sign it of my own free will, and that the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Rental Policy forms part of the terms of this contract.

 

COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Policy

1. PURPOSE

COTR CAMPUS LIFE strives to provide members and non-members with a secure location to store personal items on campus. This policy is meant to clearly define the chain of responsibility of the security,

maintenance and usage of the lockers available for rental.

2. TERMS OF REFERENCE

A. The term "Renter" shall include all persons who obtain access to an COTR CAMPUS LIFE locker and the combination of the lock to which it is assigned; and have read, agreed and signed the Liability

Form; and have read and agreed to the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Rental Policy.

B. The term "Rental Fee" shall refer to the non-refundable portion of the fee charged to anyone

wishing to rent a locker from COTR CAMPUS LIFE.

C. The term "Deposit" shall refer to the refundable portion of the fee charged to anyone wishing to

rent a locker from COTR CAMPUS LIFE.

 3. PROCEDURES AND FEES

Any person wanting to rent a locker will be subject to the following procedures:

A. Rental Fee and Deposit – For locker rentals between the advertised start and end of the applicable

term, the Renter will be required to pay a twenty dollar ($20.00) rental fee which includes a five dollar ($5.00) refundable deposit.

B. Personal Information – A Renter must provide his or her name, phone number, e-mail address, and

student/faculty/employee number in order to obtain access to a locker.

C. Locker Assignment – the locker distributor / program will endeavour to get the Renter a locker in

his or her desired location, however, lockers will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.

4. RENTER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

The Renter shall be solely responsible for:

A. The security of the locker including, but not limited to, keeping the locker door closed and locked

when not in use; not sharing the combination number with anyone; the storage of non-dangerous

items; the storage of items that do not emit odours and/or secrete liquids;

B. Any damages to the locker or the lock, regardless if caused by the Renter or not;

C. Reporting any damage caused to the locker by third parties to COTR CAMPUS LIFE, Campus Security and, if required, an authorized law enforcement agency;

D. Any items lost or stolen from the locker;
E. Ensuring that the only lock on the locker is that provided by COTR CAMPUS LIFE;
F. Returning the lock to the Campus Life office before the advertised end of term date in substantially the same condition as when it was originally provided to the Renter, as determined by  Campus Life.
G. Not posting any signage or other materials on the outside of lockers.

5. COTR CAMPUS LIFE'S RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. COTR CAMPUS LIFE maintains the right to allow Campus Security or an authorized law  enforcement agency access to any locker, provided they have an appropriate documented incident report, including a

reason for requiring access to the locker. COTR CAMPUS LIFE will make its best effort to ensure that the

"Renter" is present when access to the locker is obtained. A COTR CAMPUS LIFE representative must be present when a locker is accessed without the "Renter" present. COTR CAMPUS LIFE will make its best effort to notify in advance that access to a locker is required. In the event that advance notification is not possible COTR CAMPUS LIFE will notify the "Renter" when Campus Security or an authorized law enforcement agency or COTR CAMPUS LIFE enters a locker without the Renter present.

B. COTR CAMPUS LIFE maintains the right to remove and replace any lock, after sufficient warning, without the Renter's consent if the Renter has violated any of the points in this Policy or the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Locker Liability Release Form.

C. COTR CAMPUS LIFE is not responsible for any theft, loss, damage or harm to the lock, the locker, the locker contents, or the Renter caused by the locks, lockers, locker contents or other people.

D. COTR CAMPUS LIFE will investigate any complaints about odours, seeping liquids, damage, dangerous goods, incorrect locks (SEE SECTION 8), brought to COTR CAMPUS LIFE's attention from other Renters and other persons.

6. REFUNDS AND REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS

A. The "Deposit" will only be refunded if:

I. The lock is returned to the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life office by the advertised end of term date of the current term;

II. The lock and locker are in substantially the same condition as when it was originally provided

to the "Renter", which includes removing all contents from the locker;

III. The "Renter" who originally signed the Liability, Responsibility and Privacy Form is the one to

return the lock to the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life office.

B. There will be no refunds on locker fees.

7. LOCKS

A. COTR CAMPUS LIFE is not liable for any faulty locks. In the event that a lock proves faulty, return it to the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life office and a replacement will be issued.

B. The rental lockers MUST have the original attached lock, provided by COTR CAMPUS LIFE, on their locker at all times. If the lock is removed or changed:

I. The lock will be removed and/or changed without the Renter's consent.

II. The Renter will lose rental privileges and their deposit. Please remember, there are absolutely

no refunds on lockers.

III. The Renter's locker contents will be held at the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life office for up to twenty-one (21) days following the removal of the lock by COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life, for which they will be subject to a fifteen dollar ($15) pick-up fee.

8. CLEAN-OUT DATES

A. Lockers must be cleaned out on or before the advertised end of term date for the current term.

B. Locks should be returned to the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life office by the advertised end of term date for the current term. If locks are left on lockers or removed and not returned to the COTR CAMPUS LIFE Office, the deposit is forfeited and becomes property of COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life.

C. If lockers are not emptied of their contents, the deposit will no longer be available to the Renter for refund.

9. REMOVED CONTENTS

A. If lockers are not emptied of their contents, the contents will be bagged and stored by COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life for up to twenty-one (21) days. There will be a fifteen dollar ($15) pick-up fee for the Renter to retrieve their items.

10. CHANGES TO POLICY_

 COTR CAMPUS LIFE  retains the right and discretion to delete, add or change any of the provisions of this policy from time to time as it sees fit and such deletions, additions or changes shall be binding upon the "Renter" from the time the same are duly adopted by COTR CAMPUS LIFE Campus Life.

ATTENTION:
Locks are removed and combinations changed at the end of the school year or when you complete your program, make sure you empty your locker.

The College, when deemed necessary and advisable, will have access to all lockers. Examples of required access may include: emergency medical situations, security issues, demand by legal authorities, or when a locker assignment ceases.
