Why do I need a COTR Network account?

You will need this account to:

How do I setup and activate my Network account?

If you're on campus:

Go to an open computer lab and log on with the following information:

Exclamation MarkYou will be required to change your password the first time you log on.

If you can't get to a campus (i.e. Online Students):

You must contact the Student Help Desk to activate your network account and email. (Note: This network account is different than the Moodle user name and password you use to access your online courses.)

Please provide the following information when you contact the Student Help Desk:

The Student Help Desk will contact you when your account has been activated.

How do I access the Student Portal?

Once your network acount has been activated:

  1. Go to www.cotr.bc.ca/portal
  2. Log in with your COTR Network User ID, Password, and Domain (COTRNET)
  3. Click on the Student tab

How do I access my COTR email?

How do I access the COTR Library Databases?

Once your network acount has been activated:

  1. Go to the library's website http://library.cotr.bc.ca
  2. Click "Journal & Magazine Article or Statistic Databases"
  3. Click on a database from the list. Off-campus users will need to enter their COTR network User name and password when prompted.

If you're unsure where to start, a good database to try is EBSCOHOST
