Distressed Student

You don't need to suffer alone, there are people you can talk to and trust.

Know the Symptoms

  • Feeling depressed and hopeless
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Increased high risk behaviours
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Excessive weight gain or loss
  • Feeling highly irritable or aggressive
  • Unable to make decisions
  • Abuse of alcohol and drugs
  • Small problems seem overwhelming

Any of these symptoms by themselves may be passing signs of stress but if they cluster and become more persistent they should be cause for concern. 

Visit our Counselling & Wellness website or contact Student Services to make an appointment with an Advisor for referral to an appropriate service.

The fire alarm starts ringing while you are sitting in the cafeteria, what do you do?  Check out the Evacuation Procedures and remember to walk don' t run!
