Program Design
The Office Administration Program is designed to provide office, business, and technical skills training in a modular format with individualized instruction. Training is available both in the face-to-face classroom and via online (Internet) delivery.
A mix of computer, bookkeeping, and business communications courses are common to all certificates and have been selected to give students a general knowledge of office work. The OFAD online courses cover the same learning materials offered in OFAD face-to-face classes.
As training needs vary, students may choose to take only one or more courses (subject to prerequisites) or the OFAD certificate followed by one of the specialty certificates (recommended route). All courses apply towards one of four Office Administration certificates.
Program Duration
| Program | Length |
|---|---|
| Office Administration Certificate | 22 weeks |
| Administrative Assistant Specialty Certificate | 15 weeks |
| Bookkeeping Specialty Certificate | 15 weeks |
Note: The prerequisite courses for the Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate will take 19 weeks, and the Legal certificate will depend on the institution students apply to in order to complete the Legal program.
The extended time frame available in which to complete a certificate is three years.
Program Start Dates
New students who have applied at the Admissions/Registration may enter the program on the first Monday of any month if space is available; however, it is recommended students enter the program at the beginning on any new semester: September, January, or April.
