Description:
Philosophies of existence deal with such themes as existence, the meaning of “being,” the nature of freedom, responsibility, commitment to life, the possibility of achieving authentic selfhood, and the role of faith, love and hope in authentic existence. In doing so, an examination of each philosopher’s (and/or artist’s) life is given, as is a critical examination of each thinker’s major concepts and ideas.
Prerequisites: Phil 101 or 102
