This course is designed for students wishing to undertake a substantial project, under the supervision of a faculty member, in the study of the Spanish language and culture. Topic areas may include: Spanish and the media, teaching practices for Spanish as a second language, Spanish or Hispanic literature, popular culture, socio-culture aspects, socio-political aspects, practice in translation, linguistics, etc. This course is intended for students with strong oral and writing skills in Spanish.
Prerequisites: Students must be able to demonstrate a strong comprehension of the Spanish language including an intermediate level in writing and speaking skills. A minimum of Spanish 12 or SPAN 112 is required, or permission from the instructor.
