All students that apply to the College are required to pay the $30 application fee. The application fee for international students is $100. Trades Apprenticeship students who are new to the College pay a one-time application fee per trade.
|Student Association Fee:|
For credit based courses there is an $11.50 student association fee for each course. The maximum student associate fee is 3 courses per semester for a total of $34.50. Some programs (Trades, Vocational & Health) are charged based on number of weeks they are in session. For these programs the student association fee is $2.30 per week of study (an 8 week program is charged $2.30 x 8 weeks = $18.40 fee).
|Bus Pass Fee:|
Students that are enrolled in full time studies at College of the Rockies pay a bus pass fee for unlimited access to public transit in the Cranbrook area. This fee only applies to students enrolled in an On-campus program at the Cranbrook and Gold Creek campus (online students are not required to pay bus pass fees).
|Health and Dental Fee:|
An annual fee of $225 for the Health & Dental Plan is charged to students registered in the Fall Term in nine or more face-to-face (in-class) credits/hours or enrolled in full-time programs lasting for at least nine weeks of study. This plan provides you with extended health and dental coverage for some of those services not covered by the BC MSP and other health-care programs.

The curriculum for the Human Service Worker Program (both certificate and diploma levels) reflects the growing responsibilities and practice standards for graduates employed in the field.
Students develop a theoretical knowledge base, a foundation of professional ethics and values, a critical thinking ability, essential support skills and a process for integrating all their learning into a practice framework.
The Human Service Worker program combines academic study with practical experience to provide graduates with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to work in the diverse and complex field of community and social services.
Human Service Work Program (HSWR) Diploma : 2nd year courses are offered online and can be completed within 3 semesters of part-time study for a further 18 credits. The successful completion of both 1st and 2nd year courses constitutes a HSWR Diploma. The HSWR Diploma prepares students to work in specialized areas in the human service field. In addition, some employers require a diploma for supervisory positions.
Grade 12 graduation with a minimum of 65% in English 12 or equivalent (refer to Course Equivalency Information on the College Website)
- Completion and submission of CYFS Application Package
- Completion of immunizations, documented by the immunization form in the admission package, or completion of Immunization Waiver Form (lack of immunizations may impact applicant's access to Practicum placements and employment opportunities following graduation).
- Good command of oral and written English language
- Solicitor General Criminal Record Check. Note: Conviction of a criminal offence may influence an applicant's access to practicum placements and employment opportunities following graduation

We have setup block transfer agreements with other colleges and universities to help you continue your studies once you have completed your program. If we don't have a transfer agreement for your program you can usually transfer your individual courses to another college or university in Canada.
