In conjunction with COTR, University of Victoria (UVic) offers a four-year Bachelor of Education degree in Cranbrook. This four-year program prepares students to be classroom teachers (Grades K-7). Graduates of this program receive a UVic Bachelor of Education degree and qualify for a BC teaching certificate. This program is completed entirely at the Cranbrook COTR campus.
Admissions Requirements for Entering Year 2 UVic Bachelor of Education Degree Program
- Completion of at least 30.0 COTR credits, of course work acceptable to UVic's Faculty of Education that include English, Canadian Studies, laboratory science, mathematics and electives.
- Demonstrated competency in written English.
- An average grade of at least C+ on your most recent session. If your most recent session is less than 24 credits, you must have a grade average of at least C+ on your most recent consecutive 24 credits.

UVic Graduation Requirements
The Bachelor of Education Degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed the four-year Bachelor of Education Program. The credential is granted by UVic. UVic Department of Education does have the option of a fifth year in Curriculum and Instructional Studies.
Upon completion, students apply for a Professional Teaching Certificate issued by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch.
You will enrol at College of the Rockies in first year University Studies courses. We strongly advise that you discuss your plans to enter year two of the UVic Bachelor of Education degree program with an Education Advisor prior to selecting your first year courses.
Year 2,3 & 4
Although classes in years two, three, and four of the program are physically located at the Cranbrook campus of College of the Rockies, you will be enrolled as a University of Victoria student. Visit our Bachelor of Education Degree program website for more information.
