Bachelor of Education (UVic)

You can complete an entire University of Victoria Bachelor of Education degree, entirely at the College’s Cranbrook campus. What is the advantage of doing the degree at the College? Well, our small class sizes means you get a ton of personalized attention which helps you to do better academically. And our location means you have a unique ability to benefit from a rural teaching perspective. Rural teaching is one of the fastest growing opportunities in education.

Held in partnership with the University of Victoria, the Bachelor of Education degree, delivered onsite at College of the Rockies, prepares you to teach students in kindergarten to grade 7 in BC and Alberta. Your courses have been designed to be engaging, relevant and practical and will give you a wide-ranging introduction to all the subjects you will be required to teach.

For your first year, you will enroll at College of the Rockies in first-year university-level courses. For the remaining three years, you will be enrolled in University of Victoria courses but receive your instruction, in the classroom, at the Cranbrook campus. We recommend you consult with a University of Victoria Education Advisor when selecting courses.

You’ll find program, course, application, tuition costs and application deadlines by visiting UVic’s East Kootenay Teacher Education website.
