The Intro to Timber Framing Workshop is a great introduction to the craft of timber framing, and even experienced woodworkers will enjoy using traditional hand tools and some specialized power tools to create a beautifully sculpted timber frame. In this class, we will lay out and cut the joinery for a complete frame and then assemble it.
The traditional mortised, tenoned, and pegged joinery is a joy to make as well as live with and is stronger than conventional framing. We will be teaching traditional methods. We will be using tools and materials that many carpenters already have or which can be found locally for a minimum investment and provide good results.
The program runs from July 30 to August 4, 2012.
