University Studies Diplomas
Aboriginal Education Support Worker
The diploma program is designed for individuals with experience as Aboriginal Education Support Workers, and for those with an interest in working with and supporting Aboriginal students in public, Aboriginal or private K-12 schools.
Biology and Medicine Pre-Major
The Biology and Medicine Pre-Major Pathway program identifies a recommended pathway for the first two years of study towards a four-year degree in Biology. This pathway also maps the strongly recommended course prerequisites for admission into the UBC School of Medicine, as well as providing two of the first three required years of study before applying to medical school. Students who complete all requirements of this pathway will earn a College of the Rockies Associate of Science degree.
Criminal and Social Justice
The Criminal and Social Justice diploma is awarded to students who successfully complete the two year diploma curriculum, a total of 60 credits.
Economics and Commerce Pre-Major
This pathway identifies a recommended pathway for the first two years of study towards a four-year degree in Economics or a University of Victoria Commerce degree. Coursework consists of a Liberal Arts foundation in the humanities, social sciences, math, and statistics. This foundation helps develop a deep understanding of people in society and of the cultural, political, economic, and institutional impact of their decisions. Students who complete all the requirements of this pathway will earn a College of the Rockies Associate of Arts degree.
Social Work Pre-Major
This pathway identifies a recommended pathway for the first two years of study towards a four-year degree in Social Work at BC and Alberta institutions. Admission to a Social Work degree is highly competitive and is not guaranteed. The Associate of Arts degree includes three math and science courses in its breadth requirements. While Social Work program entry requirements vary and are subject to change, few Social Work programs include a math or science requirement. Students who do not wish to earn an Associate of Arts degree may choose to replace one or more of the math and science courses in this pathway with other Arts courses, in consultation with a College of the Rockies education advisor to ensure that all program admission requirements are met.
