All students that apply to the College are required to pay the $30 application fee. The application fee for international students is $100. Trades Apprenticeship students who are new to the College pay a one-time application fee per trade.
|Student Association Fee:|
For credit based courses there is an $11.50 student association fee for each course. The maximum student associate fee is 3 courses per semester for a total of $34.50. Some programs (Trades, Vocational & Health) are charged based on number of weeks they are in session. For these programs the student association fee is $2.30 per week of study (an 8 week program is charged $2.30 x 8 weeks = $18.40 fee).
|Health and Dental Fee:|
An annual fee of $229.50 for the Health & Dental Plan is charged to students registered in the Fall Term in nine or more face-to-face (in-class) credits/hours or enrolled in full-time programs lasting for at least nine weeks of study. This plan provides you with extended health and dental coverage for some of those services not covered by the BC MSP and other health-care programs.

The College of the Rockies has developed its Office Administration Program based on common courses within a certificate followed by two optional specialty certificates. Each specialty has an emphasis on different skills sets required in today’s business world:
The Office Administration Certificate focuses on the basic knowledge and skills to work in a supervised office.
Eligibility for Office Administration Certificate
To be eligible to receive an Office Administration Certificate, a student must complete all courses within three calendar years from entry into the program.
All OFAD courses are taught in an individualized format with set hours for course completion. Students may choose to complete their courses in a classroom or online from September to early June. The curricula in these two delivery modes are identical in content and in testing.
Start and Completion Dates
Full-time students who start their studies in September should expect to complete their OFAD Certificate by mid-February and possibly a Specialty by early June. Students who start after the first week of September can expect to complete their classes in the following academic year.
- Strongly recommend students enter the program with Grade 12
- Minimum of 65% standing in English 11 or equivalent with a 65% in English 080 or English 092
Math – Students graduating from secondary school in or before 2012
- Minimum of 60% in Essentials of Math 11, or Math 080, 081, or 082
Math – Students entering Grade 10 in or after 2010 and/or completing the new Math curriculum
- Minimum of 60% in Foundations of Math 11, Apprenticeship and Workplace Math 11, or Math 080, 081, or 082
COTR academic assessments may be used to determine math and English skills for admission.
Students who require some Grade 11 and 12 credits may be able to start studies in Office Administration while completing other courses.
Secondary school students may register in Office Administration with a Letter of Permission from their secondary school principal.
Keyboarding Assessment achieving 30 gross words per minute with three or fewer errors in three 3-minute timings. Students unable to meet the keyboarding assessment must complete OFAD 155 Keyboarding 1.
Computer operating skills are a definite asset but are not a prerequisite to enter into this program.
Many of our programs and courses will allow you to transfer to other colleges and universities in Canada. You can also apply to get transfer credits from past courses that will go towards completing your program here at College of the Rockies.
